Nothing is Certain But

Puck was involved in a round of baseball with Donkey and his spyglass, as breakfast commenced. This was followed with a bath, after which he entertained himself by slipping around the tub like a wet noodle. He warmed up in his Mexican poncho.
OLeif briefly administered a test to Collette to see “how American you are” from one of his school texts:

Collette answered five questions “correctly”, only 1, 3, 4, 6, and 8.

After OLeif packed in about three hours of studies, exams, and book reports, they departed for the Silverspoon’s where OLeif spent the rest of the afternoon working over taxes with Theodore. Following lunch, Collette read another chapter of The Borrowers to Puck as Ghost Riders in the Sky played on the stereo. That brought back memories. When some of Curly’s tunes rolled onto Gloria’s iPhone, Puck said enthusiastically…
“Curly is an awesome player of music!”

Gloria had left brownies for Collette while she started the next book as Gloria and Puck shopped for groceries.
When they returned, Gloria prepared chili for their church chili supper that evening.
Toss and catch with Puck on the deck to the patio.
OLeif’s neck-headache was temporarily remedied by a week of no caffeine and microwaved rice packs.
Snickers took a nap on Collette’s lap.
Puck walked around with the wire head massager snugged on the top of his crown.

The return home brought another package from China with two tunic sweatshirts in gray and yellow, sixty days after the original order. Long and soft and comfy.
OLeif ordered a Pizza Hut dinner box: pepperoni pizza – light on the sauce, cheesy bread, and feather-light cinnamon sticks.
