November 11
The sun was back.
Puck was in his knight-sitting-on-an-ostrich shirt and watched Up for the very first time over lunch.
Francis and Creole worked, inevitably, on the go-carts before leaving for the neighbor’s yard and then returning to continue working on the shed with Carrie.
Carrie left on a hike with Malaya (who had brought back tea for her when she was in Canada) and returned to make scones for an afternoon treat.
Collette was feeling the old tell-tale muscle strain in her right arm from over-batching her writings.
OLeif was attempting to cure a sore throat at work. Wasn’t entirely sure that the Mexican hot chocolate was helping anything…
And Mom took Linnea to gymnastics for the afternoon.
Outside that afternoon, Collette and Carrie tried to coax Puck into a ride on the hammock. Puck was having none of it, and apparently it was enough of a traumatic experience for him, that when they placed him back on the ground, he said quite adamantly with a hearty scowl:
“I died! I died!”
This was reminiscent of the old National Velvet conversation…
Then that evening, he pointed to the Swiffer mop by the fridge and said:
“That’s a… that’s a… that’s a mini cooper!”
That night, OLeif met with Justus of Orange for coffee.
