Puck was busy bossing around the ‘people’ in his resurrection set, before ‘Jesus’ fell onto the floor and rather cleanly broke off his am, and then his hand.
Puck seemed sorry for this and then continued promising to finish both his bowl of oatmeal and his bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios with his usual, “I would, Mama. I would.”
Before nine o’clock, Collette smashed her shin into the open dish washer door. No walk or jog that day, unfortunately… And as there were no crutches currently at home, and if they had been they would have been for a six-footer anyway… she was thankful for the aid of a galley kitchen while preparing meals.
Meanwhile…
Puck’s playlist of requested tunes, including As I went Down to the River to Pray, played on.
There was an unexplainable amount of googly eyes lying around the floors of the house.
And Collette read Puck’s latest library selection, a book so big, that the librarian had called it a ‘weapon’, comics-styled: The Wolf at the Door.
Later in the morning…
Collette read about Heaven to Puck.
“When Jesus calls me I will go to Heaven,” he said. “But I will say, ‘Wait, Jesus. So I can get my toys and Donkey first and bring them to Heaven too.”
And they watched Mr. Rogers learning how Pink Pearl erasers were made, on Picture-Picture.
For the rest of the day…
John MacArthur.
Whoppers… utter lack of self-control. Again…
Collette’s leg no longer hurt.
And… Collette finally getting around to washing her hair again after four days… shameful.
Late afternoon…
Continued lessons on Moldova and Japan.
Puck squeezing his mama so tightly around the neck, saying, “I love you so much!” But he did give fair warning… “This is gonna be a big one!”
Splitting the prize of Hallowe’en night: Nerd Rope. Needless to say, it was not 50/50…
Bubble bath…
That night, Joe arrived for more instructions in geometry and algebra… after so many years away from the books. And with Francis. Both boys were to move the ancient chest of drawers back to the house where Rose was to finally refinish it.
But first, Francis distracted himself for a full ten minutes with Puck’s music box on OLeif’s desk. And Joe put on music from Deadmau5 as he delved back into the endless world of mathematics.
And they were joined not long later by OLeif, direct from class.
