November 9

The morning began with Newsboys for old times’ sake while Puck asked to play knock-each-other-over, a very popular game in the living room with a stack of pillows, which worked quite well as a form of cheap entertainment. And something to look forward to in the cold winter months ahead.
But those cold winter months seemed rather far off at the moment. The day was turning rather warm.
Later in the morning… Puck requested that Collette fashion for him a clay baby fish in orange and a clay daddy fish, also in orange, while listening attentively to Pixar stories, and sitting in Collette’s lap.
Later still… a third walk of the week…
A typical Tuesday afternoon resumed with the publishing of two last fictional works of the year, a collection of poems, and a 530-page novel. Time for a hiatus.
In the afternoon, another warm walk, where the mangy black cat down the road followed them from the Hansel and Gretyl house. Puck, who was wearing his dog backpack, drew a huge grin on his face.
“I have a pet, Mama!”
Then he waved to Buddha, the big old brown bulldog, at the next house.
Then back home for a jog. The usual…
And in the minor heat of the day, Puck asked, for the second day in a row…
“Why is my head wet, Mama?”
During dinner, Puck announced, “I want a pet, Mama.”
It was to be expected. But Collette was still insistent upon no animals in the house. It just seemed… unnatural…
OLeif returned after 9:30 for Vietnamese sandwiches.
