Octopi, Barbecue, & Norwegian Singers

Sunday, July 3, 2005

Saturday lunch had been spent at the Blunt’s house, from church. There, they saw Red’s new bike, which his parents had just bought for him after their return from the Virgin Islands. There was also Red’s fascination with sea creatures and his collection of octopi to view. There was Tammy’s tomato plant, and hearing of Timmy’s law enforcement work, and how he now worked as security guard at the community college. Once, he had to separate two woman who beat each other up over a parking spot; quite sad.

And for lunch there was barbecued chicken and steak, Texas potatoes, and a salad of Catalina, peas, rice, cilantro, and peaches. On the way to Batman at the theater later with Joe, Rose, and Samantha, they listened to the Norwegian “Kings of Convenience”. Everybody had a story – purely fascinating, interesting things… It was fun to have such experiences.

In the evening, Dad treated them to El Maguey – Mom, OLeif, and Collette. It was always fun to spend time talking, and the Mexican atmosphere was fun to observe. Collette ordered a quesadilla as usual, with sour cream and guacamole. A good day to wind things down for the day.
