Oh, the Bustlings of People

Saturday, November 5, 2005

(7:10am) It was off to the land of the Amish that morning. Whereas in the beginning, the list was to include: Grandma Combs, Aunt Petunia, Mom, Collette, Carrie, Lucia, Eve, Annamaria, Rose, and Linnea, the list had been dwindled down to four: Grandma, Mom, Collette, and Linnea. Aunt Petunia was on a ladies’ retreat from church, Carrie worked, Lucia had a school project to complete for Monday, Eve was at a wedding in Kansas City with her mom for an old friend of the family’s (Beth Dickens), Annamaria played piano with the orchestra and various other things that morning, and Rose wanted to gather a group to have coffee that evening… Oh, the bustlings of people those days…

Hobgoblin nor foul fiend

Can daunt his spirit;

He knows he at the end

Shall life inherit.

Then fancies fly away,

He’ll fear not what men say;

He’ll labor night and day

To be a pilgrim.”

– “Who Would True Valor See” – John Bunyan (1628-1688)
