Oh, Those Crazy Kids...

Collette had a sudden urging that morning to return to the Magyar. Whatever had become of Malachi and Singabahambayo, Mot and Cathay, Boccaccio and Everlost, Donald and Louis XIV Applemangle (the American brothers who had visited Budapest on a mission trip, both fallen in love with Hungarian girls, had married them, and joined the Olimpia church), and everyone else. It was good to know that the Lincolns still lived there and worked in the church. Collette wondered if Sierra would still live in Budapest after college, or if she had found someone in the States and would stay there instead.

Sunday, Dad, Frances, and Curly left for separate camps at S-F for another week of Scouting. And there was Cecil Whittaker’s and youth for Jimmy, Judah, OLeif, Collette, Joe, Shakespeare, Ben-Hur, Rose, Molly, and Samantha. There was also the usual goofy talk, including discussion on how to make over the youth building. A coffee house was suggested.

I see drinks! I see coffee!” Judah exclaimed as if he were narrating a musical, “I see hot pink billowing streamers!”

That’s it – Judah’s decorating the building,” Magnus said enthusiastically.

Collette also heard something about erecting a goddess statue in the corner and about where their next mission trip should take them: Greenland, Morroco, etc.

We have to go there,” someone said. “They’re not saved because they don’t wear clothes.”

And so the conversation continued towards a time of prayer.

I’m gonna pray that Carrie learns not to throw soda at people!” Magnus proclaimed.

I forgot just how much I miss these youth gatherings,” Judah said to OLeif with a dramatic flourish of his hands.
