On Quiet Days Review October

“Why does summer pass so quickly? Why does summer pass so quickly?”
– Puck was talking to himself. –
“Why does summer pass so quickly? Because the Bible tells us ‘yes’. Tells us ‘yes’. Tells us ‘yes’…”
The rain had fallen in the night and the skies were still gray.
Black beans and milk for breakfast. For Collette anyway.
After lunch, Collette made popcorn and split the bowl.
“You may have one more scoop,” Puck said sweetly, “if you wish.”
Shortly later, he asked if God could “sing” with His own eyes.
He was busy scribbling colors on a sheet of tissue printed with quotes about bread.
“I’m making this for the big bully,” he said importantly, concentrated. “Mama. Please write: ‘To Francis. From Puck’.”
During Quiet Hour, Collette ran up another 1/3rd of World Series Game 3.
Somehow she still managed to forget about everything else when the Cards were playing.
Even in retrospect.
O, obsessions.
When OLeif returned, he spoke about one of the guys delivering his first sermon at class – a former NFL player for Tampa Bay, New York, Tennessee, Carolina, and Miami who had also apparently retired at the age of 27. He was a goofball.
