One More Day
Thursday, December 27, 2007
By Thursday, Collette was finally able to think about Israel. The whole day was spent stocking up for the boys. Collette wondered how the two of them would spend their down time. Carrie had said it well:
“I can just picture the two of them sitting next to each other on the couch, watching the television, OLeif and Puck, with their shirts off. Puck in just his diaper. OLeif has a big mug of something in his hand. Puck has his bottle. OLeif burps. Puck burps. OLeif says, ‘Nice one, buddy’.”
Everyone was busy. Dad and OLeif were at work. Mom, Collette, and Carrie ran errands. Joe was on an eight-mile hike with friends. Rose was called in early to work. Frances was having over friends. Linnea was just being Linnea and helping with Puck.
Puck has very pleased with his red balloon from Trader Joe’s.
“I haven’t seen you in two or three weeks,” said the friendly gentlemen bagger (who had apparently been bagging groceries since 1952) to the be-wowed Puck.
Puck spent the rest of his afternoon with his head tilted back watching his helium balloon float above him, which Carrie-Bri had attached to his wow.
By the time the evening had arrived, Collette was ready to crash and help OLeif finish off the two boxes of Harry & David truffles from Christmas.
