Ordination

Everyone was sifted into different activities that day. Dad and Frances at Beaumont for the weekend with the Scouts, Mom running Rose out to Brentwood for her next exam after which Rose would head to work, Carrie-Bri still in Uruguay, Joe out and about with buddies, Linnea at American Heritage Girls learning how to start controlled fires, then Judah’s and Scott’s ordination ceremony followed by a cake and punch reception…

Puck, who was trying to get himself on the new time which would begin the following day (rather, Collette, was trying to get him switched to the new time), was not prepared to sit through an entire ordination service. In fact, he missed all but the opening and closing songs, on account of his loudness. During the reception, he chewed on a stick of celery and whined loudly.

OLeif hurried through his plate of pinwheel rolls and punch before bringing his relatively new pal, Blue Jacket, back to his hotel. And after Linnea had dispersed herself from the herd of kids on the stairs, Mom, Collette, Linnea, and Puck returned in time to give Puck dinner.

Meanwhile, Rose had passed her next exam, bringing herself further into her junior year of college.
