One more time.

Puck permanent-markered his red river rock during crafts…
“Why are we coloring rocks?” he asked one of the instructors.
“Because God is our rock. He’s unchanging.”
“Right,” Puck agreed. “He’s not like Doctor Who, though. God doesn’t change.”
Puck colored quietly for awhile until the permeance of marker flooded his nostrils too liberally…
“Eew! What is that smell?”
“Don’t know, bud.”
“It’s a terrible smell, Mama.”
“What does it smell like?”
“Smells like cotton cheese!”
The other instructors tried not to laugh too audibly.
So there it was – snow cones, cookies, hot dogs, chips and popcorn. Water balloons. A giant inflatable slip ‘n slide and water slide. Puck was stoked and tried everything, after lunching with “Baby Hesed” on the curb in the half-covered sun and wind of a June afternoon in the 90’s which, fortunately, didn’t feel like it. Even Sunrise was back for a visit between college in Texas and family in Kentucky. Luke and Leia had also been present for the week.
Collette finally de-velcroed Puck from the fun an hour later.

Puck’s Friday night movie selection from the library was “Wall-E”. And no complaints about the tuna sandwich, cold vegetable “salad”, or even the “pulpy” orange juice. It was amazing what Pixar could do.
As things wrapped up for the tike, he contemplated his weekend.
“I’m going frogging tomorrow with Dad,” he declared.

OLeif’s night, meanwhile, was hopped up at the St. Charles Coffeehouse to witness Curly’s return, convincing the Nash Street band, of which he was now a member, to join him.
Mom and Dad visited Bush Stadium for the evening…
“We got Dad a Cards hat,” Mom added. “I’m so excited!”
So…
Maddie went “spidering”.
And Collette yelled at the television.
