Pancakes & Basketball

One of the things about the trip to Israel that Collette had unconsciously hoped would happen, and did – she finally had a picture in her mind of where the Biblical accounts had taken place. No longer was she merely imagining where Christ had been crucified, where the Israelites had wandered, where King Saul had fallen – she could see where they had happened (at least according to tradition). And even if they weren’t the exact places, it was the best idea she could have, at least.

It was pancakes for breakfast. For the first time in a long time, Collette had become used to eating breakfast on a daily basis. In Israel it had been French toast or pancakes every morning. Usually Collette had made a large plate of one of the two while Carrie-Bri and Pocahontas had made the eggs and poured the glasses of milk. They made a good team.

Saturday was all sun again. Collette attended Linnea’s second basketball game of her first season while OLeif stayed at the Silverspoon’s with the napping Puck and designed logos for Shepherd. Seeing as the opposing team included basically all giants compared to Linnea’s team, they lost by five baskets. But she was awarded a blue star for her efforts. While they played, Carrie also had the opportunity to catch up with Eve, and Mom with Mrs. English.

Collette had received a surprise upon her return – OLeif had ordered her a Macbook. It arrived in the mail on Friday, and by that night, Collette had been introduced into her own new world of owning a Mac.

For the rest of Saturday afternoon, they sat around at the Silverspoon’s, who returned later (minus Izzy, plus Joe) from church, where Curly had finished installing his Eagle Scout project. Later that night, OLeif took off for the movies with friends from work: Cloverfield.

A quiet, uneventful, nice coming-home week.
