Collette brushed the little wisps of hair on top of Puck’s head. It tickled him.

Giggle.

Collette thought Puck looked a lot like Dad when he was a kid when he laughed, according to Dad’s pictures. Puck seemed to mirror most of his family members in one way or another. There were times he also looked like Izzy a bit. He raised his eyebrows just like Joe. His toes curled like Carrie’s, good for tree-climbing, she noted. And of course, his sleeping and eating habits directly corresponded with OLeif’s.

In the afternoon, OLeif, Collette, and Puck drove out to Augusta where the Peppers were throwing a graduation party for Ben-Hur. They brought him a copy of Valley of Vision.

Joe, Magnus, Augustus, Rose, and Sunrise were already present upon arrival. Curly came shortly later. Even Olive Circles, now also a graduate, turned up right before dinner. The pool in the back was cooking in the June heat. Their group talked and laughed about everything and tossed around a few ice cubes at one another. And soon, the evening came to a relatively quick close when they drove back Magnus and Rose in time for work. Joe and Curly were not far behind, escaping the heat.

Meanwhile, Collette read about the celebration of the Transfiguration of Christ on the Dodecanese islands south of Greece when it was not an uncommon thing to be bombarded with flying eggs, flour, yoghurt, or squid ink… for what reason she knew not.
