A gray day… the perfect sort of gray morning where the wind was up, and rain was coming for St. Patrick’s Day.
At the house, Mom had made a traditional pan of green scrambled eggs. There were jokes by Joe, of course. And pancakes. Puck tried his first flapjack, and seemed to enjoy it. What didn’t he enjoy?
Thunder rocketed through the skies while Collette worked on word problems with Frances.
It would have been a nice St. Patrick’s Day except for news from the Owens, who had just lost their 22 year-old grandson. He had died suddenly. They had been through similar grief before.
That evening, OLeif drove Augustus, Erasmus, and Mollie to Cloud Cult’s concert. Collette stayed home and ate eight crescent rolls.
