Puck Meets Babies

Saturday, November 17, 2007

As usually happened on Saturdays, Collette began the day with good intentions of organizing the piles of clothing in the bedroom. Too many seasons’ worth of sweaters and jeans. And as most of them were OLeif’s, most of them also had holes and were no longer useful.

However, Collette decided to put off the ordeal for yet another week. November 17th would be used for finding the Puck a new car seat. (He was already being smooshed cute snugly into his current seat.) And then to the Silverspoon’s to celebrate Denae’s belated birthday.

Upon arriving, OLeif oohed and aahed over the Silverspoon’s new TiVo, then got into the usual theological discussion with his Dad. While they spent the next several hours talking, Denae and Collette took Puck to the store and bought him a winter coat. Puck enjoyed the experience, taking a ride first on Collette’s back in his new carrier, then on Denae’s. He watched the faces of the other babies at the store with great interest, then yelled happily at them. It was one of his few first encounters with some of his own kind, and he was pleased to meet them.

Returning, Denae put a dish of enchiladas in the oven and dished up Collette a bowl of one of her favorites: peppermint ice cream.
