Quiet Afternoon

The sermon had been good that morning, and there had been news of the safe arrival of the youth and leaders in Chicago. There seemed little to say on that warm afternoon in early August. Carrie was half-asleep on the couch. Francis had gone to spend the afternoon with Chester and the rest of the Hobcoggins. And Linnea was ready for some sort of action or adventure while Mom and Dad napped. Collette wondered what the week would hold; after all, they were all on a journey. And it was an excellent thing to enjoy that journey together, fulfilling the great commission and enjoying what was given, being good stewards, glorifying God…
