Recovery Process
Collette was still feeling somewhat under the weather by Sunday morning, so she and Puck dropped OLeif off at church to teach Sunday School and play both services, while they spent their morning at the house.
After services, OLeif, Joe, and Rose returned, Rose with ingredients for omelets, and OLeif started frying up the sausage.
After his nap, Puck spent part of the afternoon stomping around in Joe’s trainers while Joe snoozed on the loveseat with the cats and his sketchbook.
When Carrie returned at around 3:15 from her third day of CERT training, she tried to stay away from the chubbing.
“I can’t wait till I feel better, Puck,” she said. “Then I’m going to squish you.”
Then she wriggled her fingers at him.
“I’m coming to give you germs, Puck!” she said.
“Noooooooooo!” Puck yelled. “That’s dangerous!”
That night, after Puck’s warm bubble bath, OLeif sat bundled up with him on the couch with his sippy.
“Let me see your cave, Daddy,” Puck said seriously.
He examined, carefully, the inside of OLeif’s mouth from a short distance back.
“It’s hot in dere. Hello in da cave? Daddy, say ‘Hello in da cave!’ Hello down dere! Hello down dere!
And news from Atlanta:
The family had spent the day at an enormous aquarium to visit the beluga whales, sea snakes, etc. and had eaten at the Mellow Mushroom for dinner. And the next day they were going to go shopping at IKEA.
