Reunion

Another day at home. Puck decided to crack open the hour early and sing for rescue from his crib at 5:15am. Collette was not charmed by his whining pleas. So she allowed him to watch the last half-hour of an old black and white Civil War Jimmy Stewart film on television while he waited for a breakfast of waffles.
Then, before leaving for the park in the cool later morning, he busied himself rearranging stacks of books (his favorites of the morning seeming to be a biography of Princess Grace Kelly, and Gone with the Wind) and a box of canned tomato sauce on the kitchen table, while he used the half-empty can of “Brilliant Sea” paint used to coat the hall bath, as a step-stool.
By 10:30, Puck was squealing with happiness to see his Lila and his Francis again. They spent an hour, the three of them, climbing through the tangle of jungle gym at the park, sharing cinnamon bites and string cheese. After a tearful goodbye to Lila and Francis, Puck was swiftly appeased with the hopes of another reunion the following morning.
That afternoon, he carefully watched the grandpa next door motorcycle around the neighborhood. He was intrigued.
