Rose Turns 18
The Rose was now 18. She awoke to balloons on her bed and “Happy Birthday” sung from the family.
Meanwhile, Collette noticed that Rose’s latest interest was glueing googly eyes to all the plants in the house.
“The cattails are cyclopses,” she said.
And, indeed, they were.
As Collette was taking Puck outside, she saw a wild turkey run around the neighbor’s house. She called Linnea to look.
“Oh, I saw him yesterday,” she said calmly. “He walked over to me and I pet him. He was so soft.”
“Linnea! He could have poked your eyes out.”
Linnea just smiled.
“He was a nice turkey,” she said.
On the way out to the store to finish up shopping for Rose’s last gift, Carrie found another one.
“Welcome to the family,” she said to the new dread lock.
For lunch, Mom took Collette, Carrie-Bri, Rose, and Linnea to
Red Robin for a birthday lunch. Rose happily ordered the Red Robin Bacon Cheeseburger with Provolone and Pepper Jack.
In the afternoon, Mollie brought her a jar of yellow and purple flowers and cattails and smiley-faced cookies.
In other news, Rochester was in Uganda after a 38-hour trip.
