School holiday

Wake from exploring hexagonal-greenhouse-with-hearth in historic town... baking cheese toast in the oven... driving through the Rockies somehow misplaced in Indiana... to...

Yali and Patience back to fighting down the hall... (it's brief)

As I get up to open all the shades, Patience has already prepared breakfast for herself... a plate of three fully peeled and parted clementines and a mason jar of chocolate milk stirred with a chopstick...

Windchill is 9 at ten... fairy dust falling in the same hour...

Puck hits the treadmill before an assortment of knit hats arrives for him via courier service, which makes me laugh a little... “I love buying stuff” he grins...

The crew congregates together later in the morning... Yali researching fruit roll-ups on my laptop... Patience – wearing all her satiny awards sashes at the same time for fun – is taking another lesson from Puck on how to make a proper fist while he corrects her definition of the word “trypophobia”... and the boys test out Oxbear's unfinished set of Stormtrooper helmets... Puck also discusses with me Einstein's perspective of children in education...

Afternoon... Puck hits another work-out before a four-hour shift in Produce...

While I work at my desk, Patience chats with me about nonstop for a full hour of dance practice on the shower pan liner in the basement...

While Yali is outdoors checking the mailbox, he discovers a fully frozen puddle inside the saucer sled which he removes and runs back inside with it like a trophy in both hands, crowing Mowgli-style over his discovery...

After dinner – kids a little slap happy – they cuddle up with me in blankets on the couch to watch Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy encounter the White Witch in Aslan's camp... big tears rolls down Yali's face as Aslan leaves for the Stone Table...

Puck returns from work at eight o'clock to change out of his uniform and drive out to J's for the evening... frigid in an 11 degree windchill and dropping...
