Home.

The day was bright. Warm. Things unfortunately appeared as though they were headed into an Indian summer. Upper 80’s and lower 90’s for the rest of the week… not so good for Carrie’s plans for the visitor from South Africa.
But it was not too hot for another walk around the quiet neighborhood.
“Good morning!” greeted one lady to them.
“Good morning!” Puck called right back.
Two houses later…
“Hello!” from another lady.
“Hello!” Puck replied.
Collette’s shy baby had quickly disappeared over the summer…
At the corner, in the yard of a house for sale, Collette and Puck found a mushroom as large as a souffle.

For lunch, as a treat, Collette let Puck watch Ponyo in the cool basement, while eating crunchy fish sticks.

The afternoon was mostly for Greek music, a jog indoors, due to the climbing temperatures, and more Calvin and Hobbes.
Then Puck helped Collette shred some old documents, played with a pile of grass green marbles swirled with red and yellow, and arranged the incoming grocery coupons from the mailbox, sighting very quickly in one of the ads…
A go-cart! Just like Uncle Francis’!”

Following dinner, in which Puck had been awarded chunks of canned pineapple, he grabbed his Children’s Catechism and recited the first four answers. It seemed to be one of his more favorite possessions as of late.

After five, OLeif returned home to oil the pan for his special ‘OLeif-chicken’ and to type his first paper of the semester. But not before he and Puck had enjoyed their full share of wrestling matches.

At the end of the day, Grandma’s surgery was over in two hours. The results were still unknown.
