Puck was busy looking through OLeif’s seminary textbooks that morning.
“Angle!” he exclaimed happily, pointing to a triangular-shaped diagram on one of the pages.
He had learned this shape from his Nana on Saturday.
Then, Collette heard him triumphantly calling out from the other room, “Jesus loves me!”

Over at the house, Dad was leaving for Iowa in the early afternoon, and Puck had found the glass pumpkin filled with candy corn and peanuts.
“Want some?” Carrie asked. “Give me kisses first.”
And Puck obliged.

Before Puck’s nap, the girls (minus Linnea, who was battling a sore throat from her camp-out), visited Trader Joe’s for edamames, frozen blueberries, the seasonal pumpkin bread mix, etc.

That afternoon, while Collette worked with Francis and Linnea on their music theory, Mom and Carrie took Puck on a walk under gray skies.
When they returned half an hour later, Puck ran into the house.
“I saw a snake, Mama!” he cried out happily. “I saw a snake!”
And indeed, he had. He had also watched a helicopter fly over his head and had picked up a rather ripe orange persimmon to bring back with him.

On the way home, Puck dictated music selection.
“Big music, Mama? Big music?” he asked.
‘Big music’ equaled one very particular piece sung in Latin on Collette’s Renaissance collection CD.
And ‘Hey’ referred to a Doctor Who-based piece on the mix that Carrie had made for him.

That evening, Collette went out for a jog in the light rain, as the lightening and thunder swept in.
