In which Grandma is ill, and the weather takes a semi-unusual spin…

Puck always had interesting things to say. When Collette set out a fresh set of clothes for him, he responded with…
“Could you buy me a new body, Mama?”
And later…
“I make your day. I make every day a happy day for you, Mama.”

There were tasty bacon sandwiches with smoked gouda or cheddar on Texas toast for lunch.
The skies were darkening rather deeply, and Puck watched the effects of the wind out the kitchen window, hoping for precipitation…
“I’m keeping my little pink eyes on the trees!”

With highs in the mid 60’s, the rain began falling after one o’clock. Collette opened the windows for an hour.
Before two o’clock, Grandma Snicketts was taken to the doctor. Pneumonia was suspected.
Thunder.
Rose had been given a 1.5% raise at work.
A contact from the literary agency…

With the evening came word that Grandma did, indeed, have pneumonia in both lungs. Medication to be administered.
And with catechism question #38 on board during dinner…
“Can you go to heaven with this sinful nature?”
Puck replied…
“No. I’m afraid not.”
A gray cat begged for attention from the patio between rain showers. Collette tossed him a piece of Puck’s chicken.

Into the night, thunderstorms arrived.
Uncle Harry called from New Mexico.
And there was toast.
