Sky-Dipping

Saturday, July 14, 2012

Another bright and sunny.
To start.

And OLeif was looking less hairy.
In general.
Although now that most of the hair was gone from the top of his head, his beard was more pronounced than before.

Puck scratched off reading sheet #3 at the library – another block of space ships sketched in with brightly colored magic marker. Collette caught up with nonsense in the car while the boys raided the shelves for more volumes of intrigue and adventure.
Puck perused illustrations from his stack, which included his first suggestion of tasteful “skinny dipping”. Collette explained.
“I want to go ‘sky-dipping’ sometime, Mama. But not naked, though.”

Gloria had test-painted the front door and shutters a dark Atlantic blue.
Izzy received a Wehrenberg gift card from Silverspoon the younger for a very belated birthday gift.
When paths rarely crossed.
By this time, dirty water clouds brushed in.
Izzy and Puck were arguing over who Snickers liked more. Izzy seemed to win the conversation.
“It’s alright, buddy,” said OLeif. “You’ll get there.”
White peach sparkling water and almonds tied the hour until lunch as those strange puffy whites kept floating in and continued to hang around for the rest of the day.

Theodore and Gloria checked back in before one-thirty as Izzy departed for yet another wedding. With the grill started, the familiar autumn aroma of woodsmoke had returned already with stacks of meat and vegetables.
OLeif napped off another headache at four.
Theodore tapped away in the basement, removing the framing in preparation for remodeling set to take place sometime that summer.
Puck rummaged a three-drawer box of Legos.
Izzy returned from the wedding to walk right back out the door for an oddly-placed graduation party.
And Gloria talked about picking up communion bread for their brief interim series of services at Lutheran High School.
Game at three in HD, all the familiar faces in shiny red numbers.

And the beat went on.
