A little Mexican music to start the morning with the rain back, falling lightly and sporadically, given the pattern on the back deck.
“Dad! Look! My dream came true! I’m tall enough so I can open the microwave!”
OLeif departed late so he could spent time with his enthusiastic son. He would be out late with Izzy in Illinois that night for a Leon Redbone concert. So Collette fried up some bacon before his departure and he packed a third of the roast Gloria had left for them.
The rain began to fall more regularly by one o’clock with a little Canada Dry Sparkling Raspberry Seltzer Water during Puck’s Quiet Hour in the lavender Music Room where he shuffled through a stack of library books or “called the police” from a dead white cord-phone, sitting on the top rung of the step ladder.
And for most of the day, Puck was busy conducting…
“Experi-ents!”
Sleet starting falling before three.
Continued tunes of South America.
And with four o’clock, the snow arrived. Just small flakes of it for a short time.
String cheese.
Korean films.
The temperatures continued to drop into the evening.
Also given that Carrie-Bri and Elodie-Rose were out to a ladies’ evening with church, there was no movie night.
And of course… more weird and/or devastating Korean films.
When obsessions hit…
All that partially lost in translation where “pretty” was always somehow inevitable translated as “prett”, everyone bowed rapidly, sang karaoke, fifteen year-olds married college students, and “tacky” was the buzzword around town. A place where 7-Eleven and Kinko’s existed outside the US. Violence and romance were often mixed. Not to mention all the pop-up ads for “Osama Shoot-Out”s on Korean websites. And Twix.
Collette’s eyes were about falling out by eleven.
With some crazy winds outside.
A late night call-in with the rest of the family.
Joe was stirring up mischief.
Gretyl was hanging out with Linnea.
Rose had thought she had strep throat; she didn’t. There was no heat in her apartment, so she would be spending the night at the house.
