In which OLeif has a sort of little holiday…

OLeif was working from home that morning because Rose’s realtor friend from church was coming over to check out the house in the afternoon.

Two hours of work in the morning, followed by reading to Puck about Noah’s Ark. While Collette wondered to herself whether or not all of the fresh water fish had died during the colossal upheaval, Puck perused the sketch…
“Why is that Ark purple and that mountain flat? I think that’s not what they really looked like. The artist just drew it that way.”

Shortly after ten, Collette and Puck joined OLeif on a ride to seminary for his first-to-last day of class for the semester.
Chocolate mini donuts from the vending machine for a dollar in change.
Beards.
Half an hour of ping-pong on the carpet; Puck rummaged under the tunnels of goldenrod-ringed couches for escaped balls.
Beards.
Abnormally highly heated bathroom to wash Puck’s hands.
And… beards.

On the way home, OLeif insisted on picking up a pizza to celebrate something or other. But no one complained.

Two o’clock look-about by the lady from Rose’s Bible study who had lived for three years at L’Abri in Switzerland with the Schaeffers in the 70’s. It was sort of like meeting a mini-celebrity.
“Rose is a special woman,” she said at some point during the one and a half hours. “I keep my eye open for a good guy for her. But, you know, none of them are good enough for her.”
And in the end, there was a lot to do, but nothing crazy. Good advice and information.
