Summer Break Day #41

  • Take Yali and Patience to Laumeier Sculpture Park, which they love, until the heat gets too sticky to stay any longer
  • The kids dig “freezy pops” out of the basement freezer upon return; Yali wraps each in folded paper towels “like the doctors do for me at the hospital” he explains to Patience
  • After tweaking the old back once again at the sculpture park, I take a few hours to rest it, while knitting deeper into the sunset afghan; Oxbear picks up a bag of M&M’s minis while he’s at the store, in effort to restore me

When Patience realizes I can’t move so well during the late afternoon, she runs up, spreads her arms wide, and announces with profound confidence…

“DON’T WORRY, MOM! WE WILL CLEAN EVERYTHING FOR YOU!”
