• At Yali’s desperate urging, spend all morning rescuing the baby woodpecker, at the door of death, bringing him to the Wild Bird Rehabilitation center in Overland; Oxbear drives, I hold the boxed bird, Yali and Patience accompany for moral support
• Back home, Yali and Patience load up ziplocks with peanuts and green pea chips for their next adventure – an owl hunt which later became a buffalo smack-down
