Sunday of Games
Collette just couldn’t help herself. It was an all-day dose of Olympics once they arrived at the Silverspoon’s after church. Most other things went out the window when the Games were on for Collette. It had become an odd habit of hers over the years.
And so the never-ending games continued around steaks and a long deep nap for Puck.
During church, however, Puck had been too loud and too restless to sit during the service. So Collette brought him to the youth room where he rummaged for interesting knick-knacks. Collette handed him a tube of bright yellow tennis balls, which he dumped out, filled back in again, and closed the lid. Then he whined for Collette to open the lid so he could continue the routine.
Meanwhile, Joe and Rose had arrived in their emerald green tees from the mission trip to present their report with the other students and leaders for the adult Sunday School classes. Puck was also not in the mood for listening in on this presentation and meandered around the youth room for another hour.
By the time OLeif had brought back Reeses peanut butter cups to supplement a meager dinner at home, Collette was surprised at how quickly the weekend had passed.
