Tenemos Vida

Clink.

Tumble.

Clink.

Tumble.

The sounds of a quiet, Quiet Hour, in which the Lego box and clothes dryer mesh in simple harmony. A harmony that is much-appreciated after the drain, already, of another Monday morning.

As I removed a selection of items from the refrigerator that evening…

ACHOO!!

“Puck, why did you just sneeze on my hand?’

“Sorry. I’m a little bit allergic to refrigerators sometimes.”

Some time later…

Thud.

Bang.

“What are you doing, Puck?”

He deflated a grocery bag in the air…

“I’m just trying to parachute.”

At least I had already removed his roller skates before the initial trial.

Our assistant/associate pastor requested that I join the interview panel Monday night for the scheduled office administrator interviews, to be available for any questions. I agreed. Five o’clock and the marathon had begun.

I like to watch people. It’s amazing the differences in personality, dress, body language, all the stereotypes they come up with… Blinding bright pink blouses, gray sweater, heavy bauble jewelry, thin chain necklace, takes notes, doesn’t take notes, twinge of accent, no accent… But in the end, after four hours and three ladies, we miraculously found what we were looking for.

Mission accomplished.

Until Christmas, that is…

Thought of the Day

It’s pretty incredible the quantity of differences in each human being. Yes, Mr. Rogers got the whole thing right. But it’s not just a matter of unique snowflake personalities and physical appearance. Every human being is composed of a billion knick-knacks. This includes the “troubles”. Allergies. Reactions. Quirks. Health, etc. Even all those unwanted things that you can’t get rid of, the thorns in your side, the sins that haunt you maybe all your life that you always have to battle. All of those things together, every single bit and piece, seen and unseen, crowd together to make a person that has not existed before, and will never exist again. Maybe it’s overworked, over-pulled, but the sheer creativity involved in composing that many tens of billions of combinations – at least – boggles the mind.
