Tensities and Rising Heat

And so Carrie-Bri and Eve left early that morning for New York City. And in the office there were frustrations as usual. Sinai had taken the day off, and everyone else just dealt with things and the tensities and aggravations of working in a church office. Judah was throwing papers all over the place and said, rather severely, to the copier: Naughty! Naughty! No, it’s not OK!… several times, punching buttons. Jimmy spilled a can of root beer all over the floor, Ivy and Collette were so filled with donuts that the sugar had taken over their minds and they did four and a quarter dozen things while still feeling rather lazy. Collette was very happy to see that four o’clock came very quickly that day.
Meanwhile, Judah was copying music for the wedding, which was stressing him out rather grandly.
“Here, Collette,” he handed her some sheet music, “I would like you to play the kazoo for this piece.”
“Ha,” Collette replied, “If you want a mess on your hands.”
“Well then,” Judah walked off with the music, “I guess I’ll just have OLeif play it on the trumpet.”
“Even better.”
Later, Collette entered the dust-bowl heat of the afternoon, passing Bud Cross who was working in the Bobcat where another water main had broke.
“Windy Kansas day,” he called out. “Where’s Toto?”
And then there was a Silverspoon family picture planned for the evening at the Souths at seven o’clock.
