"The ambiance of it all..."

The following day had been tranquilly happy, the care-free but hearty family afternoon she loved. Mom, Carrie-Bri, and Linnea had come to pick her up, Carrie in her Californian-Italian look, with retro shades, loose bangs, and a green fleece, sporty flip-flops… The delicious inside sunshine of the afternoon, the getting-along atmosphere as the “good old days”… cookies, Greek soul music during dinner of French fries and mayonnaise (like in Europe), seasoned steaks, soft Sister Schubert rolls and later, ice cream with little silver teaspoons from a small shop in Paris – she saved the wrapping entitled “Made in France.” “Little House” Halloween episodes, and thoughts of marriage at such ages as John and Mary at thirteen and half. Carrie felt like loosing her lunch over the very thought. The ambiance of it all… (a very OLeif word, which he used in abundance the first time, when he prepared her a feast of vegetables and tea three years earlier as they discussed past experiences in the “paranormal”.) But it was all a time of good talks and laughter and jokes, always a good time…
