The Big Old Green Thing Bites the Dust

Another one of those double birthdays.
The longer Collette lived, the more double birthdays she was discovering.
This time it was Uncle Balthasar and Judah Rye.

To begin things, everyone was getting the house ready for an appraisal later in the week. This was additional incentive to paint the garage white in preparation for the airplane construction.
So while Mom and Carrie began work on this project, Collette, Joe, Linnea, and Puck left to pick up the big green thing from church. It had been used as a transportation vehicle for the youth group all that past week.

Unfortunately… it didn’t work.

Collette and Joe hooked up the jumper cables.
Nothing.
Rain was likely coming in, and there was nothing further to do but leave it in the church parking lot until it could be towed.

So they hit Dierberg’s for their second errand.
Linnea was sure to pick up two boxes of ice cream, including her favorite: mint chocolate chip.
And Joe added a package of coffee and a set of Mr. Clean magic erasers, as a present for Mom. He also bought Puck a little orange Hot Wheels matchbox car. Puck was very happy.
Then the kindly elderly gentleman bagging up the groceries handed Puck and Linnea some stickers.
On the way out, they emptied Carrie-Bri’s Tardis bank into the Coinstar machine, resulting in an Amazon gift certificate for 23 dollars and thirteen cents.
It was kind of a jackpot grocery visit for everyone.

Back at the house, Linnea opened up her box of Russell Stover’s chocolates, a gift from the neighbors across the street for watering their flowers while they were visiting their daughter in Colorado. That seemed like a good idea until Collette took an accidental bite into the heart of a coconut truffle. The abomination.

This was followed with mass discussions about what could possibly happen with the finale of all finales when the David Tennant Doctor would die, as the next Doctor took his place. On Christmas Eve through New Years Eve. They had a long time to wait. The suspense was pretty bad. BBC might ruin everything…

After Linnea and Puck took a dip in the kiddie pool in the backyard, a rather muddy bath, Collette and Puck returned home to put together fajitas. And OLeif scrubbed down the chubby Puck in the bathtub, followed by dinner and Andy Griffith.
Then Collette and Rose took a walk to the library to refresh Rose before she took her practice mathematics examination. Although she seemed to be more interested in sketching pictures of chickens and aliens in her notebook, than in algebraic equations.
