In which life progresses as usual…

On Puck’s 4.5 year mark, he was fascinated with the pile of pottery dishes that Rose had gifted him, and endless combinations of Marbleworks. Water glasses and the peanut butter jar were substituted for various missing bases.
Pork chops marinated.
Three games of War, at Carrie’s suggestion, to learn numbers.
A shipment of organically bound minerals sent from Amazon within 43 minutes of purchase.
Preparations for Saturday’s all-day submission writings.
Rose’s very-Rose-ish shoes arrived in the mail.
James Herriot’s children’s animal stories from England, another pass-down from Rose, which sent Puck into near tears when he thought ‘Old Blossom’ was going to be sold to market ‘for meat’…
“That is not appropriate,” he managed, behind a short wall of misty tears.
Classic 99.
Research Charlie Chaplin costumes for Puck’s Hallowe’en.
And the day was colder than, and just as gray as, Monday.

When OLeif returned, the evening’s busywork wrapped up to include some light reading: Soccer Made in St. Louis: A History of the Game in America’s First Soccer Capital, the strangely captivating documentary series: My Big Fat Gypsy Weddings, and a hot fudge sundae.
