The Eclipse

Yali walked out the back of the school about 45 minutes prior to total occlusion. He pressed the solar eclipse shield to his face.

“It’s a PRETTY MOON, MAMA!”

Later, he added that the moon was looking pretty orange.

When Oxbear and Puck and the rest of the school joined us at one o’clock, seventeen minutes till ground zero, energy was high. Puck about flipped out with excitement when he heard the crickets simultaneously begin chirping in the eerie light.

“Kind of reminds me of the Book of Revelation,” one of Puck’s 5th grade teachers said aloud to Oxbear.

At 1:17, hundreds of observers removed their glasses to witness the white ringed light of the sun hug the moon in something akin to a screaming explosion of awe.

Incredible.
