The Normal

In which the usualness of life continues…

6:20 wake-up call.
Puck had found the loaf of white bread OLeif had made in the bread machine the previous evening.
“Just one more bite?” he pleaded.
Collette agreed. When she walked out to the kitchen, she discovered that Puck, still in his Toy Story footy pajamas, had taken that interpretation in a three-year-old way and was holding the entire unsliced loaf in both hands, chomping bites off the top.

In other news…
OLeif had received his ‘accolades’ at church the previous morning. He had been given a solo to play during the offertory: Softly and Tenderly, Jesus is Calling, and played it in the way only OLeif knew how to play it.

Meanwhile, for the morning…
More from the 47 hours of The Monte Cristo on audiobook.
Walking, indoors. Still too cold yet for outdoors.
Further extensive research for contracts.

Into the afternoon…
Mock negotiations with Carrie via phone. There was more work to be done on scripting.
The day was mostly gray.

The evening…
OLeif made Parmesan ‘chips’.
Herbal pills…
And Puck was let watch an episode of Adventures in Odyssey for the very first time. When he heard Mr. Whittaker’s voice from the animated character, his jaw dropped a little.
“Is that Mr. Whittaker?”
“It is.”
“But Mr. Whittaker shouldn’t have a beard.”
“Some men do.”
“But some boys don’t have beards.”

Into the night…
Genesis and Matthew with OLeif.
Good intentions about laundry.
OLeif picked up about a third of the 15 or so DVDs Collette had reserved for him at the library.
“They don’t have a limit on how many you can check out anymore,” said OLeif. “That seems like a bad idea…”
And OLeif attended a nine o’clock Skype meeting with Scott Pie regarding further design work for One Ancient Hope.
