The Rain

Sunday, February 13, 2005

Annamaria’s fifteenth, and Collette woke up to rain that morning. It was always good to have a rainy Sunday, she believed. It made the coming week even more promising.

She would bring a book for the afternoon and just read for the fun of it. Pat of Silverbush had always been one of her favorite stories – one she enjoyed rereading every year or so. And now it was nearing spring, and time to read it once again.

Of course, there seemed nothing better that afternoon than to bring on the rain while inside was warm with the soft light of lamps and “Little House” playing while a hot cup of hot chocolate sat on the stove.

Collette was tired. Her head ached from the sinuses and she had another nose bleed coming on, but she decided that there was no use in thinking on the poorer aspects of the day. It never did a person good to do so. She would do her best to see what good there was ahead in the coming week.
