The Slick

Tuesday, December 16, 2008

Tuesday began just as bitter as Monday, except that there was no new ice on the ground. Snow, instead.
Francis was getting anxious for lunch, by the time it was time to begin algebra.
“How many minutes before I can put that mountain of potatoes into my stomach?” he asked Mom, greedily eyeing the tater tots.
And it was time for another choir concert. Despite the slick, everyone came out for another Christmas performance. And, for the first time in history, no Snicketts were present in the Concert Choir. After thirteen years. Francis would not be a freshman until the following school year.
They were pleasantly surprised to find that Darnell Igloo was visiting as a guest soloist for the Concert Choir that night. In addition, Travis Tecumseh joined them on bass guitar. It seemed as though the choirs were having a good year.
And the evening ended with flowers for Bluebell, as usual.
