The Trimmings
Over at the house, Carrie-Bri was giving Linnea a hair cut. Then she fluffed it up and made it look bigger.
“Wow,” said Carrie. “She’s starting to look like Rose.”
Shortly later, while Collette worked with Francis on algebra, Linnea took Puck outside to draw with sidewalk chalk on the patio.
Soon after, there was a knock on the patio door.
“Look,” said Linnea miserably. “He ate our only growing tomato.”
She handed Collette a partially eaten, very green, tomato. Puck was chomping a mouthful in the background.
Then it was Francis’ turn for a hair cut.
“Wow. Nice. You look like Dr. Who,” Collette told him.
Francis tried not to smile.
Then he grilled himself steaks for lunch.
The rest of the day was spent in running around.
The girls split to the mall for Linnea’s clothes shopping, while Carrie and Collette worked a little more on OLeif’s wardrobe. Including a pin-striped blazer.
Then Trader Joe’s for supplies, including fresh mozzarella to couple with shewermas for dinner.
Following: Linnea spent several hours with Eleda before being picked up by Mom and Francis for a Classic Conversations evening meeting.
That was after Collette and Carrie completed OLeif’s wardrobe purchasing at Target. And Joe’s, who met up with them there after a work-out at Club Fitness.
Then Joe joined Collette and Puck back home to work on his iTunes set-up with Oleif.
And Carrie-Bri was going to be picked up by Lucia for an evening in the CWE for sushi.
But not after everyone had said their goodbyes to Puck and had received all their hugs and kisses from him.
Rose sat with Puck at dinner. She lifted up the Viking ship and began a running story dialogue, to Puck’s fascination:
“’Oh, we haven’t any hope of survival out there on the open sea!’
“’Why, yes we do. For we have magic!’
“’Let us see what the runes have to say to us.’
”They tell us to speak to the large monster eating food.’”
Rose sailed the ship through the air toward Puck, who was staring intently at it.
“’The monster says nothing. What shall we do?’
“’We shall sail off and eat our one barrel of turkeys. And our one barrel of water.’
“’What I wouldn’t give for some smoked kipper.’
“’The lunatic assassin threw it overboard.’
“’Let us go to the cyclops lord on his island and see what he has to tell us.’
“Puck, say, ‘I am the cyclops!’”
After dinner, Collette and Rose took a mile jog/run around the neighborhood in the pleasant evening.
Then Collette gave OLeif a hair cut.
It was one of those sorts of days.
