The Usual Tuesday

Tuesday, April 18, 2006

It was a serenely palm-tree sort of day that mid-April afternoon. Even Texas, whose temperatures were rather docile for early spring, had seen temperatures up to 100 degrees, and various blackouts.

And Tuesday brought a typical session of history with Joe and Rose on the couch, Rose full of mischief and insults ranging from gloopy head to fish on your face. And Carrie began singing Abiyo-yo, abiyo-yo, sitting next to them with her text. Earlier, Rose wrote an original piece entitled, Jamaica, while Joe created an all-new poetic masterpiece on the cats. And both had made plans to celebrate Curly’s sixteenth with the choir kids two days late over pizza after choir, provided they didn’t run out of time. That evening was to be a concert involving the quartet in which Lolly played, downtown at the Sheldon.

In the meanwhile, Carrie was most anxious to complete school. It was estimated that she had a mere 73 days till graduation. And there were thoughts of a float-trip over the summer for her and some pals.

And it was the 131st anniversary of Paul Revere’s ride.
