Day number three…

Puck, at breakfast, was busy asking Francis questions…

Tell me about dah truf (truth), Francis. Tell me about dah truff…”

A better successful day at Vacation Bible School. Puck even participated in the water games with great enthusiasm and was awarded another dum-dum, after which a number of the preschoolers started jumping around Henri and calling him a ‘Dum-Dum’, over which Mrs. Swiss did not seem so pleased…

Meanwhile, Francis was off with Creole and Puff ‘o Lump to Gaston Bananas’ house for tubing all afternoon. And later in the middle afternoon, Linnea was escorted to gymnastics, ice cream, and then to the English’s house for a slumber party with Eleda.

Back at the house, the chubby Puck munched on almonds and drank apple juice while catching up on a Classic Doctor Who and the World Cup game: Australia vs. Serbia in the kitchen with Carrie-Bri, who was busy making batches of soap to use up a plethora of herbs and teas. These included, but were not limited to: honey and lemon verbena, mint, blue hibiscus, and honey, milk, and green tea. She included several soaps in a fleur de lis mold for Grandma.

This was followed with the preparation of a peach cobbler. All done around her latest celestial projects. She had also taken lately to wearing a Vietnamese bamboo hat to shade her head from the sun, which was strikingly practical, really.

Meanwhile, Puck was busy outside and with books, occasionally reciting a phrase for which no one had the translation, as he had done so since Sunday evening: ‘One more half a dinner kip.’ This was followed with his actual dinner, where Collette let them watch an episode of I Love Lucy, in which Lucy was running behind and would reply to Ricky over and over, ‘I’ll be there in a minute, dear!’ Once the episode had ended, Puck exited his chair and hurried to the back rooms.

Puck, come back,” Collette called to him.

I’ll be out in just a minute, dear!” he called back to her.

Then he helped Rose water her garden. And right after, OLeif arrived. Puck ran out to him for a bear hug.

I love you so much!” he called out to OLeif. “We can’t climb up to dah tree or else we’d fall, and then we’d sleep.”

OLeif laughed aloud.

And the USA was still in the running for World Cup South Africa.
