This and That, This and That

People, People, as the good old Yente would say. Whatever happened to all of them? At the graduation ceremony itself were: Velvet Law and Alfonso Candles (who Collette presumed would be married in December), John Boy Strawberry, Old Blue and Cashmere, the Orange brothers (minus the eldest), the Ingrids, the Friendlys, some of the Reds, the Wests and Chicolinnis, Northcutts, Tecumsehs, Igloos, and the list continued on.
Sunday, after Sunday School and worship, Collette and OLeif hurried over to the Silverspoons’ for lunch where everyone caught up on life and The Da Vinci Code, talk radio, and HHO and variant water-based fuels, etc. over pizza casserole, salad, and key lime pie for dessert.
Relevance and Kitts had attended the opera the night before with Mr. and Mrs. South – The Barber of Seville. And they had plans to attend Bo Ernie’s graduation party at the park that afternoon while OLeif and Collette scooted off to Roamin’ Through Romans, the kids’ musical at church.
The grandmas came as well, and Collette helped Sasha Honey prepare the cookies and punch for afterwards. Even Carrie was able to crash by after an eight-hour day at work, having just been promoted to an assistant manager. And, as usual, she was dying of laughter over the shenanigans of Susie Plum, on the stage. Joe, Wallace, Rose, Bob B., and Molly posed as the peanut gallery in the back row. And Molly was quite excited over the prospects of Rose having invited her to the choir picnic that Tuesday and to another voice recital the same evening.
The rain began to drizzle after the performance, blowing in from the west over the field and the silos. And garden lights came on around the neighborhoods. It gave Collette an old feeling, from the before, fishing villages, old early 1900’s towns by the shore…
