Thunderstorms
Linnea was dropped off early that morning in the rain and thunderstorm.
Best way to start the day.
Then it was to the post office for stamps.
Target for various elements and highlighters for Linnea (for school), and a jumbo box of Puck’s first Crayola sidewalk chalk in 60 pieces.
Then for groceries where Linnea bought Puck a small rubber bouncy ball in swirled turquoise, emerald, and sapphire for a dollar.
They returned for a lunch of burritos with organic refried black beans while Puck asked for a ‘dona? dona?’ (donut) from the bag of chocolate Hostess donuts on the counter.
And during the afternoon, while Linnea watched a little television, the skies turned progressively darker and darker.
By the time 2:30 had arrived, Collette realized that a storm had popped up out of nowhere in the west.
She hurried to wake up the snoozing Puck who went out on the front porch with Linnea and his sidewalk chalk, just as the rain broke.
It was a beautiful storm!
And it was followed with Linnea and Puck playing together outside in the rain, when it had calmed a little, while Collette marinated chicken in lime and chili sauce.
Then Carrie-Bri and Lucia arrived for a short while. Lucia had a fresh tattoo on her arm that was still bandaged. And they watched Puck play with his cardboard blocks, right after he had finished his bubble bath.
Rose came over in time for dinner, tutoring, an older Charlie Chaplin film, and Wendy’s chocolate frosties, ‘thick and rich’, as Dad liked to call them.
Meanwhile, OLeif had, once again, for the third time, injured his knee. And Collette ordered him back on the crutches.
