In which things happen…
Puck’s signature question of the week…
“Could I have a banana to start the day?”
Pick up Gloria’s contacts.
Silverspoon’s.
News that Alfonso and Velvet’s twins had also been born yesterday, and another C-section: Quince Candles, 6 pounds, 2 ounces, and Thimbleberry Candles, 6 pounds, 1 ounce.
Puck played outside around the flowers for awhile… playing make-believe with himself, making himself sound very important with a little ‘dialogue-smacking’ from time to time.
“Now the point is…”
[Smack.]
“Weeds are bad and rocks are good.”
[Smack.]
“So…”
[Smack.]
“Do you know how to be good?”
[Smack.]
“Sometimes you don’t, for matter of fact.”
[Smack.]
“Now the point is…”
[Smack.]
“You need to learn.”
To the house…
Joe was with Joe and Wally again, boating.
Back to Memorial for the evening. And, as usual, the girls’ list of names for those within their expanding circle of friends and acquaintances continued to grow. Principally, this list included:
- Whiny Girl
- The Eagle (who now lived in Las Vegas)
- Wiggly Toes Guy
- Dreadlocks Guy
- Dreadlocks Guy’s Wife
- Wiggling Hips Girl
And…
- Wrong Hong Dingle-Dong
And the little man with the bow tie would be leaving to pastor a church with his family in North Carolina. So… farewell barbecue. Rose was bringing a fruit salad graced in mortar-and-pestled mint sugar.
Before the service, Carrie stuffed her discarded lamb burger into a tissue roll in the car. Desperate times… and then froze to death in the pews during the sermon.
Fortunately, the evening was mildly warm. And in the end, they stayed till nearly 8:30, sitting on the stone steps in the mellow evening, Carrie and Benedict discussing matters of personality types, Doctor Who, evolution, etc., which included photos of Dr. Wintershine’s ‘toyger’, after which Carrie joined Lucia and a friend, and Benedict, for coffee while Rose bar tended at The Chapel.
Collette returned and finally got to sleep sometime after 11:30.
