To the Doctor
Friday morning, Collette headed out to her doctor to obtain a medical letter for the adoption. About an hour later, after the usual adrenaline pulse, even blood pressure, medical history questions, blood drawn, trying not to faint, water, an orange juice… Carrie drove her past the Hindu temple.
It was white and partially powder blue, and ornately carved.
Then they visited Whole Foods, a large grocery store a little further down the road with interesting and organic foods, and picked up tandoori naan for Carrie to make bacon flatbreads, apple juice for Carrie to make more cider, and chocolate mint cookies.
Carrie worked up a delicious lunch for both of them and Joe before Collette and Carrie left to set up a checking account at the bank for Carrie.
And then Collette left to pick up Puck from the Silverspoon’s.
They spent several hours playing outside and in, and both Collette and possibly Puck had seemed to come down with Dad’s and Carrie’s cold by the end of the day.
That evening, Joe arrived with an enormous salad from Jack-in-the-Box, and Rose, followed shortly later by Tennessee and Nacchianti Coca-Cola to watch a season of Flight of the Conchords.
