To the Voting Booth

Tuesday, November 4, 2008

Election Day again. It had already been four years. After Puck’s 18-month appointment, OLeif treated them to a box of hot French toast sticks before hitting the library for the voting booths.
Puck sat in his dad’s arms, running his little red matchbox car over OLeif’s shoulder. He was intrigued by the ballots, and received an “I Voted” sticker before leaving. OLeif became voter #436, and Collette #438, which she thought was a little low, after the polls had already been open for nearly five hours.
Back at the house Puck shuffled through the yellow leaves, and happily watched cars pass.
By the early afternoon, Collette decided to begin her social experiment – see how long she could last before hearing who had taken the presidency. Her prediction was that she would accidentally find out by the end of the following evening.
