Treats in the heat

It's chocolate long johns after church from Tony's Donuts...

Back home Puck is chatting about how “funny” it is that a few hours after the Army signs him to a six-year contract the U.S. bombs Iran... meanwhile... though magnet fishing yielded nothing interesting in the Missouri River the previous afternoon – must have been strange for passing traffic : two teenage boys (one wearing a Chinese bamboo hat from Epcot) dangling a magnet off the bridge in deadly heat – Puck also saved a snapping turtle on the highway who – as reward – felt the need to empty its bladder all over Puck's cargo pants...

A 106 heat index Sunday afternoon sitting on the porch at the Big House... Patience rubbing clown make-up on young T's face for an impromptu circus while the small crowd discusses things like Orthodox prophecies and opinions on the Middle East as plates of strawberry shortcake are passed around until all cousins eventually migrate to the kiddie pool in the backyard...

Then scoot over to St. Peters where Oxbear is discussing Lutheran doctrine in more depth with Theodore and Gloria... while Gloria teaches Patience how to prepare homemade frosting...

Back home picking up Puck from work in dead heat... gets his evening double cheeseburger...

Sunset with kids in their bunks for the night and a little “Northern Exposure” to close a slammed week...
