Trick-or-Treat Rotation #2
The rain just continued. On and on.
For the morning, Puck dressed up once again in his Buzz Lightyear costume and walked around OLeif’s work to receive bountiful gifts of candy.
“Hey, buddy!” Rose called to him.
She held out a giant bowl of candy.
“Take as much as you want.”
Rose’s costume was outlandishly native — a bushman. In colored pink and gold plaids (resembling much of what Collette had seen in Dominica), furs, belts, cloths, blue face paint, and her giant stuffed tiger rug on her head. And her poky stick.
Then they visited Lucia, who was wrapped in an afghan, costumed as ‘someone who wanted to go back to bed’.
“Awwww!” she said, when she saw Puck. “You’re so cute. Here’s some candy.”
And she handed him a giant Tootsie Pop.
Then over to the house for tutoring and a variety of small errands once Puck went down for his nap. This included taking Linnea to Target where she purchased a tub of Edy’s mint chocolate chip ice cream for three dollars from her birthday gift card for her personal stash. There was little Linnea loved eating more than mint chocolate chip ice cream.
And then to the post office to renew Collette’s passport, 1½ years early, due to paperwork for Colombia…
By 5:15, OLeif had left for church, Rose driving him there on her way home. It promised to be a crazy weekend for OLeif, helping to supervise the passel of kiddos over the Halloween weekend at the Rock Your Face Off youth retreat.
