Trouble in Flo-Town
Tuesday, June 21, 2011
In which little of account is recorded, except from Lucia’s perspective in old Flo-town…
Day two rolled in quickly on the first day of summer, which always fell on Izzy’s birthday. His 18th this year, to be exact. He purportedly began his day with a discovered Coke on the front porch.
The day had begun with thunderstorms.
Boom.
So OLeif got the car.
Another attempt at Bible School.
And success on all counts.
Homemade Playdough, tambourines, snow cones…
Giant beach balls tossed around in the gymnasium. This was an enormous hit.
The winds had been up. High.
And one day left to go, at least for Collette.
Back at the house, Earnest was busy hunting up Dad’s electrical cords to chew.
Mom was leaving to meet up with Luke’s and Leia’s mom.
Joe was out to visit a newly-discovered bike track.
News of how Lucia had incidentally summoned a firetruck, ambulance, and police car when she called 9-1-1 when the fire alarm wouldn’t stop screaming…
Afternoon.
Cake.
Ugh.
Collette figured herself officially allergic.
Algebra.
Sunning, with no sun.
Dad was taking Mom to Red Lobster that night.
Tornado Watch until eight o’clock.
Back home where OLeif surprised Puck with a stuffed-crust pizza. Puck was so excited when the delivery man came. He didn’t even know what it was.
“What’s in the box, Daddy?” he asked, completely ecstatic. “Is it a surprise for me?”
A little cuddle time for Mama and Puck.
And a read-to-sleep from OLeif to Puck of Redwall.
In other news, it would seem that Izzy had received a tarantula for his birthday. His name was Titus.
And, it turned out that the 9-1-1 call had not been entirely as funny as they had originally thought. Laclede arrived at the Combs’ house that evening and found four gas leaks.
Poor Uncle Mo… blissfully oblivious in the Bahamas…
