In which there is the suggestion of storms…

It was going to be a May scorcher, the forecast predicted. Up to 90.

However, Collette and Puck woke to light rain, a rumble of thunder, birdsong buried in the deep green, and a cough for the four year-old.
Mint tea with honey was prescribed.
He had also not forgotten the hidden package of Rice Krispy Treat and peanut butter orange crackers from Grandma Combs in the kitchen cabinet. OLeif had told him on Monday that he could have one of them on Tuesday.
“Is it tomorrow?” Puck wanted to know.
Collette was able to swing the conversation into other sectors for the time being, including the possible making of brown rice bread.
Puck was sitting at breakfast with his yogurt parfait and a wrench in one hand, his tool for the day.
“I will help you, Mama,” said Puck seriously. “Because you will have some problems, maybe. And I have my special tool so that the bread won’t die.”

The day went on with…
Requesting three titles for the library: Quo Vadis and Ben-Hur on audio CD and BabyCakes Covers the Classics: Gluten-Free Vegan Recipes from Donuts to Snickerdoodles.
Rice bread quickly became out of the question, however, when Collette realized that they were out of eggs.
“Maybe we could make you a different kind of bread today…”
“Wuhl… we have gun powder,” Puck offered, helpfully.
Forgoing the suggestion of gun powder, Collette let Puck mix a random concoction of flour, some sugar, milk, and a little baking powder together in a bowl, and bake as four muffins. The result interestingly mirrored the smooth skin of a Colonial Sally-Lunn bread.
Then it was on to Japanese cats and tube worms in the library department.
And Puck seemed to be inventing some sort of his own language.
“Bomb-geosh. That means ‘I love you’. To to ahs go. Means… ‘why you washing car?’. Ahncoast… I don’t know what that means.”
And more rumbles of thunder.
Until…

Nearing one o’clock brought out the sun once more and the upper 80’s. The windows were re-closed. Although further rain and storms were not entirely out of the question for the rest of the day…

Over dinner, Puck had some thoughts to share…
“Some day we’re going to die and then we’re going to go live with Jesus. And then we will go back down to our house, because he made it again.”

At 2:30, OLeif had been at his last class for his final presentation with nifty graphic designed hand-outs, signature OLeif. He received several compliments.
He followed this with a check-in meeting with his buddy at Krieger’s from his Wednesday night group to help prepare the fellow for his interview at Brown Shoe Company on Thursday.
He returned later with milk, butter, and eggs.

When the eyes gather the death-glaze, and the light of earth is being shut out from you forever, Grace shall lift the curtains of Heaven and give you visions of eternity! And when at last the spirit leaps from time into eternal space, then Grace shall be with you to conduct you to your Father’s house! And when the Judgment Throne is set, Grace shall put you on the right hand; Grace shall robe you about with Jesus’ Righteousness; Grace shall make you bold to stand where sinners tremble, and Grace shall say to you, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”
